A strange kind of poetry

September 5, 2007

Artist Rick Valentin created a wonderful art piece, where a computer searches the news websites on the internet for the two most used words every hour, which are then printed on a continious sheet of paper. Paul Schmelzer of Eyeteeth explains it beautifully:

“In these times when we can be paralyzed — or bored stiff — by the massive overload of available information, it’s something of an anti-Google, poetically simple and weirdly powerful in how it seems to distill down the biggest fears and obsessions of the hour into two simple words.”
