Mutatoes

What a neat idea. Berlin artist Uli Westphal collects vegetables from Berlin farmer markets, documents them and then sells them on a special market stand. He wants “to document and archive these last survivors of biological variety”. It really reminds us that even our supposedly naturally grown food has already been altered so much. And it´s not like it would taste different. I think next time when i go to the market i´ll choose the vegetables with character instead of their streamlined cousins.

That’s a nice idea to show the “unnormal” fruits. Everybody had seen something like this before – but never in this enormous number! And I never bevore had a cucumber like these in my hands… 😉
